Thanks a lot to whoever will be able to help me. I tried to restore the virtual box (before uninstalling it I had copied the folders of the virtual boxes, so I still have the vdi files and the rest) but there is only the path of the sharing folder. The problem is that I had forgotten that I have files in a sharing folder inside the virtual box, so I start looking for methods to trace the files deleted from ubuntu by following the online guides used Photorec but it does nothing but find me thousands of useless files (most corrupt). I use the Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, a windows virtual box no longer worked so I decided to uninstall it and then reinstall it following this guide ( How to completely remove virtualbox ).
